In the Philippines, the colorful and all around JEEPNEY is "King" of the road..!

RAILWAYS   The Metro Light Railway Transit (LRT) runs along the major thoroughfares of Metro Manila only, moving hundreds of thousands of commuters each day.  Since the railways are elevated above the roads, a ride on the LRT provides a good overall sight-seeing perspectives of MetroManila.  By an odd contrast but quite an attraction in itself, is the "One Horse" powered locomotive (but note, the "Horse" is very much alive..) ingenuinely utilized by the folks in the upper villages of the Negros Island Provinces.  Such mode of transport is pretty much in vogue owing to the practicality of the locomotive to negotiate the steep railway contours of the mountain areas and where gasoline fuel is not necessary.

In the Philippines, specifically in the rural and more remote areas of the countrysides, one would not find it surprising to see "jeepneys" filled to the rooftops with hordes of passengers. Getting to ride one of these jeepneys is already an adventure in itself... one which you'll get to "survive" and live to tell the tale...
