PHILIPPINE CLIMATIC CONDITIONS

The Philippines, situated a few degrees above the Earth's equator, is a tropical country and is subjected to tropical climatic conditions and weather patterns throughout the year.  The months beginning in the middle of February marks the transition from the cooler months (when the Siberian winds blow down towards the equator) to begin the hot and DRY SEASON ("summer") for the months of March to May until around the middle of June when the RAINY SEASON begins. During these months, tropical storms and Typhoons, which usually make their way in the "typhoon corridor" from the southeastern to the northeastern part of the country, not uncommon.  Typhoons seem to be regularly experienced in the eastern Provinces of Leyte, Samar, the Bicol Peninsula, the Provinces of Quezon, and Aurora, and all the way up along Region-2.

The rest of the months are pretyy much rainy (especially in the northeastern part of the country) until it ends around the middle of November.  The cooler months come around the months between November until late February..

Temperatures around the country average between 78°F/25°C to 90°F/32°C with humidity averaging about 77 % annually.

WHAT TO WEAR
Light, casual clothes are recommended. Warmer garments are needed for mountain regions. When visiting churches and temples, propriety dictates that shorts and scanty clothing be avoided. Formal occasions require dinner jackets and ties (or the Philippine barong tagalog) for men and cocktail dresses or long gowns for women.
